We are excited to announce that POLYMEER, together with FURIOUS project, will co-host a webinar as part of the EU Green Week 2025 partner events. Titled “Biopolymers for a Sustainable Future”, the webinar will take place online on 19 June 2025 from 11:00 to 12:30 CEST.
This year’s EU Green Week, organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Environment, is centred on the theme of the “three Cs” – Clean, Competitive and Circular. As part of the month-long programme of partner events, our joint webinar will contribute to the discussion on how bio-based and circular plastic innovations can drive the transition toward a more sustainable, resilient, and competitive Europe.
The session will highlight recent progress made by the POLYMEER and FURIOUS projects, both funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme. These projects are developing next-generation bio-based polymers using renewable feedstocks, such as brewers’ spent grain (BSG) and furan-based compounds, to produce recyclable and biodegradable materials for applications in sectors such as agriculture, packaging, and automotive.
The webinar will feature project presentations and a panel discussion on the practical applications of biopolymers across key industries, with participation from academic, industrial, and R&D experts.
