Sharing knowledge and building connections are essential to accelerating Europe’s transition towards a circular bioeconomy. During June, POLYMEER was represented by project partner AIMPLAS at two major European events focused on recycling and sustainable materials, helping raise awareness of the project’s objectives and innovative approach to bio-based polymers.

POLYMEER at the AMI Chemical Recycling conference

On 9 June, AIMPLAS presented POLYMEER during the AMI Chemical Recycling conference in Frankfurt, one of Europe’s leading events dedicated to chemical recycling technologies and innovation.

During the conference, Ana Campo Rodrigo, from AIMPLAS’ Chemical Recycling Group, introduced the project through a dedicated presentation, highlighting POLYMEER’s ambition to develop sustainable bio-based polymers from brewers’ spent grain and other renewable feedstocks. The event brought together experts from across the recycling value chain to discuss the latest technological developments, market trends and policy initiatives driving the transition towards circular plastics.

Connecting with the textile recycling community in Brussels

Later in the month, on 24-25 June, Irene Martín Estellés represented AIMPLAS at the AMI Textiles Recycling Expo, held in Brussels.

As part of the AIMPLAS exhibition stand, POLYMEER was presented to visitors interested in innovative recycling technologies and sustainable materials for the textile sector. The event provided an excellent opportunity to engage with industry stakeholders, researchers and innovators exploring new circular solutions for textiles and advanced materials.

Although POLYMEER focuses on bio-based polymers, participation in cross-sector events such as the Textiles Recycling Expo helps strengthen collaboration opportunities and highlights the role that sustainable materials can play across different industrial value chains.

Participating in specialised industry events is an important part of POLYMEER’s dissemination strategy. By engaging with professionals working in chemical recycling, sustainable materials and circular manufacturing, partners such as AIMPLAS help increase the project’s visibility, foster new collaborations and contribute to the broader discussion on Europe’s circular bioeconomy.

As POLYMEER continues to develop innovative polymer solutions from brewers’ spent grain, these exchanges with industry and research communities play a key role in ensuring that project results reach the stakeholders who can bring them closer to real-world applications.
