On 4–5 March 2026, POLYMEER was featured at the IX International Seminar on Biopolymers and Sustainable Composites, organised by AIMPLAS – Technological Institute of Plastics. The event brought together more than 150 attendees and over 20 speakers, confirming its role as a key meeting point at both national and European level in the field of biopolymers.
The two-day seminar focused on the challenges and opportunities of sustainable bioplastics and biocomposites within the circular economy, showcasing the latest advances in research, development and innovation. Covering the entire value chain, the programme highlighted solutions aimed at boosting business competitiveness, diversifying raw materials, and reducing environmental impact through advanced technologies.
During the event, María Mozo Toledo presented POLYMEER, introducing the project’s mission to transform brewers’ spent grain (BSG) into high-performance bio-based polymers. The presentation provided insights into the project’s progress and its potential to contribute to the development of circular and sustainable materials for demanding applications.
POLYMEER’s participation reflects its commitment to bridging research and industry, engaging with key stakeholders and contributing to the advancement of applied innovation in the bio-based sector.
The seminar once again demonstrated the importance of collaboration and knowledge exchange in accelerating the transition towards a more sustainable plastics ecosystem.
